Yeovil Art Space invites young people in Yeovil aged 13 - 17 from 5 secondary schools to take part. Participating students will learn social skills and build confidence through working as part of the team, as well as develop skills and knowledge across creative subjects, such as art & design, photography, audio podcasting, curation, event management, and community engagement.  

By taking part, a young person will: 

• Have the chance to bring your ideas to Story of Yeovil Project and be the voice of the young generation in Yeovil.
• Work with professional artists and curators.
• Attend monthly creative workshops and events,  
• Work collaboratively in contributing to the exhibition programme.
• Learn more about contemporary art curation and interpretation of heritage exhibitions.
• Meet other like-minded individuals and make positive contributions to the town. 

Meetings take place between 1-3pm at Yeovil Art Space (and in other locations such as South Somerset Heritage Centre, Yeovil Library, and other possible venues with advance notice): 7 October, 3 November, 1 December, 12 January, 9 February, 16 March

View of Yeovil

A group of 12 young people, aged 13 - 17 years old, have been invited from local secondary schools and colleges to add their ‘View of Yeovil’. They are working on their own photography with creative sessions inspired by heritage novelty postcards, concertina postcard books and carte de visite photographs. Facilitated by Creative Tutor Lucy Evertt.
